Let Children Play!

Nathan Wallis - PLAY MATTERS!

I have had the privilege of hearing Nathan Wallis talk about the brain development of children and have been blown away by how right Early Childhood curriculums have it in the way we value and endorse play based learning.

It is very easy to get caught up in the need to have our children ‘ready’ for school with a range of ’academic’ or tightly structured programs. But the science has now proven what Early Childhood educators have known for years….. PLAY MATTERS!

Here is the link to an article by Nathan Wallis, a Neuroscience educator and university professor discussing the importance of play, and the type of play that supports children’s learning and brain development.
